Portable Concrete Mixers

There are many types of concrete mixers or cement mixers, which are designed to suit different application needs and fit different budgets. One such economical and small concrete mixer is the portable concrete mixer and is quite popular where there is less space and less quantity of concrete needs to be produced. As the name suggests the portable concrete mixer is a small machine that can produce concrete in small quantities but it also takes less mixing time and can be used extensively.

A portable concrete mixer is great machine for homogeneously mixing cement with other aggregates and water to produce concrete. For this it uses a revolving drum to mix the components. It is very useful for smaller volume works where it gives the workers ample time to use the produced concrete before it hardens. This serves a great purpose in such small volume applications. Due to its size, it can be moved easily and can be taken to the site of construction. A typical portable concrete mixer has wheels and towing tongue so that it can be easily moved to the worksite towed behind any motor vehicle. Not only the portable concrete mixer is easy to move to the worksite but it small size allows it to be moved easily on the worksite by hands.

The rotation of the mixing drum is powered by mains electricity. Another alternative of the electronic mixing machine is the manual mixing portable concrete machine where the rotation is powered by hand. This alternative is obsolete and is no longer used. The lever of the portable concrete mixer allows the concrete to be tipped into a wheelbarrow.
